Obituary for Robert Andrew Margl

Robert A. Margl, age 74, of NE Mpls. died as he lived, helping others on April 15, 2017. Bob was born January 6, 1944 in St. Paul to Andy & Mae Margl. He graduated from Cretin Durham Hall and went on to the University of MN. In his younger years, he worked for Deluxe Check, Totem Town, Princeton Color Arts, and Pioneer Press. He was employed for 36+ years with Falk Paper Company, currently serving as VP/GM.

Bob was a community activist to say the least. He took charge of several neighborhood initiatives including promoting peace, devotion to equality, protecting the environment, helping those in need, and more. His generous heart was reflected by his support of multiple charitable organizations.

A clear connector of people, Bob loved spending time with friends and family, initiating & organizing gatherings for his family as well as his community. He enjoyed biking, skiing, golfing, and traveling to Europe - especially Poland, as that was dear to his heart. Known as the best grandpa ever, Bob will be remembered for his kind heart, caring soul, and help of anyone in need.

Bob is preceded in death by his parents. He is survived by his loving wife, Anna; daughter, Holly Margl (Matt Paar); grandchildren, Benjamin, Nicholas & Joseph Seidl; step-children, Maria (Dan) Erickson, & Kathy (Steve) Weiers; siblings, Judy (Jim) Ross, Sue (Bob) Marabella, Tom (Penny) Margl, Jim (Kendra) Margl & Rick (Terese) Margl; many nieces, nephews, extended family in US & Poland as well as lifelong friends. Visitation at KOZLAK-RADULOVICH CHAPEL (1918 University Ave. NE) Thursday from 5-8 PM with Rosary at 7 PM. Mass of Christian Burial at CHURCH OF THE HOLY CROSS (17th Ave. NE & University Ave.) Friday at 1 PM with visitation one hour prior. Interment St. Mary’s Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials preferred to Great River Coalition, Catholic Charities, Sharing & Caring Hands or to donor’s choice.
