Obituary for Michael Edward Benson

Michael Edward Benson 1957 - 2018 of Minneapolis, MN. Mike Benson passed away peacefully Thursday, April 19, 2018. Mike's great love was his home on the shores of Lake Mille Lacs. Mike was inspired by the seasons and the rhythm of the lake. As a young man Mike enlisted in the Army. He worked for decades with the University of Minnesota. He welcomed retirement 2 years ago and settled in Mille Lacs. Mike was preceded in death by his father, Raymond Benson; mother, Glady Benson; sister, Mollie Benson; brother-in-law, Lowell Hedquist. Mike is survived by his sister, Katie Hedquist; brothers, Pat Benson (Suzanne), Rick Benson (Lynn) and Tom Benson. Mike had a great affection for his many nieces and nephews as well as all of the families' fur babies. Mike was kind and loving to his family. He was an independent and creative thinker with interesting opinions to share. He is loved and will be missed by many. Rest In Peace Mikey and fly with the angels!
